BiographyMr YE was a seaman who became ill and died (of heart disease) in Wellington hospital. His funeral was reported in Evening Post, 19 Feb 1889, noting that the procession included 10 carriages of mourners (probably his crew mates) and attracted many spectators. The newspaper identified him as "Yip Chong". This was revised to YIP Ah Chung, before new research suggested it should be YE Ah Zhang.
